Sant Martí de Saldes

  • Has its origins in the year 875.
  • The present church building is a sevetneeth century Baroque.
  • City: Saldes.
  • Free.

The present church retains a Romanesque layout. It has a bell tower and has a square windows arch tone Romanesque. Reconstructed building (1703) with remains of the Romanesque apse perfectly oriented. The interior of the building is stone and view reveals the building structure. On each side two side chapels open vaulted arches puzzle. On the south wall remains an arch voussoirs and a window arch walled and very high. Preserved five altars inside, polychrome wood, Neoclassical and late nineteenth century, come from a local shop or Baga San Lorenzo de Morunys. It also preserves the image of the Virgin Gresolet thirteenth century, which in 1947 was moved for security reasons.

Mare de Déu de Gresolet

There is evidence of the existence of the sanctuary already in 1258. It is a church with a single nave, with straight headboard and side chapels. It is covered with a barrel vault. It preserves the polychrome decoration of the walls of neoclassical style.

Access: by forest track, is a very good place with a picnic area, the surrondings are lovely.

Saldes Castle

  • XIII century castle.

The first written references are from the years 1068 and 1095. It still has some of the outer walls, the church of Santa Maria and the courtyard. It also features a large hall of the thirteenth century, vaulted with a pointed arch door.

Molers Dolmen

  • Dolmen Age of Metals (1800-1400 B.C)
  • City: Saldes.
  • Free.

Date of Metal Age (1800-1400 BC). It is a glass consisting of two megalithic slabs and sides covered with a third large. No front slabs. It is the most important prehistoric monument in the region.

Sant Ponç de Molers

  • City: Saldes.
  • Free.

It is a small Romanesque temple with a single nave from the 11th century, topped on the east by an apse with a semicircular section. The primitive door at noon is boarded up. As for the modern current door open to the speaker. The nave, covered with a barrel vault. The apse is covered with a quarter sphere vault. The church is part of a small group of Molers with very good views of Pedraforca. The church was restored 1998.

Sant Serní de Maçaners

  • City: Saldes.

The Nucleus of Maçaners is located at an altitude of 1,240 m, located shortly before reaching Saldes. From this place there is a beautiful perspective of Pedraforca. Sant Serni appears mentioned in the controversial act of consecration of the Seo de Urgel, from the end of the 10th century. The temple, recently restored, preserves elements of the primitive Romanesque.

Gósol Castle

  • The most prominent feature of the church is a square tower.

Castle Gósol is the eleventh century and the route passes the way of good men (GR-107). Includes within its grounds the remains of a village that is known as Old Town, abandoned in favor of the new village at the foot of the hill. Access from the town square in about 5 minutes. The church was abandoned when it built a new enclosure at the foot of the hill. Among the s. XVI and XVII did not suffer any changes but later lateral chapels were added, and a new one opening vault. This same church comes a Romanesque carving of the Virgin, preserved in MNAC (no. 15936).

Santa Maria de Josa

It is the old parish church of Josa, located on the outskirts. It consists of a building with a single nave covered with a round of cannon. Inside is a baroque altarpiece. Municipality of Josa and Tuixent.

Medieval village of Bagà

  • Noted for its beauty Square Galceran de Pinos.
  • City: Bagà.
  • Free.

The center of the town is clearly differentiates the old part of town, built under the Pinos Palace and protected by the ancient walls. Noted for its beauty Square Galceran de Pinos, arcaded square buildings of considerable antiquity, the church of St. Stephen, the access bridge and the whole of the medieval Old Town.

We propose a route through the historic center of Baga, the only town that preserves intact the medieval urban structure; as it was built by Galceran de Pinos around the thirteenth century. In particular, we recommend visiting:

  • The parish of St. Stephen
  • The square Galceran de Pinos.
  • The Palace of Pines.
  • The Tower Portella.
  • The Romanesque bridge River Bastareny.

Monastery of Sant Llorenç

  • The first written references about the monastery date back to the year 898.
  • City: Guardiola de Berguedà.

The monastery of San Lorenzo is one of the most important cenobítica Berguedà.

Sant Quirze de Pedret

Santuari de Queralt

  • City: Berga.
  • Free.

Perched on the Sierra de Queralt, from where it overlooks the city of Berga and the region. Known as the balcony of Catalonia. You can visit the sanctuary and the cave of the virgin. From the platform that is installed, it is an ideal place to launch a paraglider. There are several marked trails.

Sant Vicenç de Rus

It is a Lombard Romanesque church with chapels from the 12th and 14th centuries. With a single nave, it has a semicircular apse that shows Lombard arches on the outside, with a flared window, a barrel vault and a belfry. During the 1980s, the Local Heritage Service carried out restoration and remodeling works that made it possible to recover, among other things, part of the Romanesque paintings that it housed. Today in the church there are reproductions of these paintings; the originals are kept in the Diocesan and Regional Museum of Solsona. Arranged visits are made.

Sant Sadurní de Rotgers

In the direction of Sant Jaume de Frontanyà and three kilometers after the town of Borredà, there is the path that takes us to the church of Sant Sadurní de Rotgers, declared a Historical Monument. It is a small church with a single nave, covered with a slightly pointed vault and crowned by a semicircular apse. Inside, the late central tomb and a fragment of a row of decorative opus spicatum stand out, under the central window of the apse, which has two windows decorated with blind arches, characteristic of the early Romanesque. Above the nave stands a bell tower with a square section and two floors. Arranged visits are made.

Santa Margarida

  • A small chapel.

Church built in 1763, under the cliffs of Costasses. On 20 July held a gathering begins with a series of religious events and then becomes large party at the town square. The road to Coll de Mola was happening out there, both for walking and biking or 4x4.

Santa Cecília de Fígols

  • One of the smallest towns in Catalonia.
  • City: Fígols.

It is a Romanesque building from the XIII century modified in the eighteenth century. It consists of a single nave, vaulted apse and without, has an interesting square bell tower with windows arch retains an eighteenth century Baroque altarpiece dedicated to Saint Cecilia.

Access by road to Vallcebre after passing Palomera, just after Coll de Pradell, in an area where the road has a steep slope. About 5 minutes.
